No Man’s Sky: Less Than 1% Of Players Reported Technical Problems, Sean Murray Says

'But even that is a large number.'

No Man's Sky

No Man’s Sky‘s long awaited launch mostly went down well – in spite of mixed critical reception (on our part, we liked the game), the game seems to have done well commercially by any metric – but the one thing marring the experience was multiple technical issues with the game on both, PS4 and PC, and on PC more than on PS4.

However, speaking on Twitter, Sean Murray of Hello Games noted that ‘less than 1%’ of players had actually raised support issues with the game- implying that the problems were not as widespread as one might have concluded, based on the furore they created. He noted that of the problems that do exist, 70% should be resolved with the new patch that is out for the PC version now, with the PS4 version patch releasing pending approval from Sony.

Murray noted that this patch adds support for more builds on PC, and improves framerates for lower spec’d machines, while adding stability to the PS4 version- among other things. Murray also conceded that even ‘less than 1%’ is technically a huge number, given just how many people are apparently playing the game.

I don’t know if I necessarily buy the ‘less than 1%’ remark- the problems seem to be endemic and fairly widespread, after all. That said, it is good to see that Hello Games are trying to resolve these issues promptly. Here’s to a smoother No Man’s Sky experience going forward for everyone.
