Most of us are aware that Destiny’s Rise of Iron DLC launches next week. However there is something strange happening within the Destiny community. More specifically players are reporting that they are noticing some strange buffs happening during gameplay. Some people suggest that it’s some kind of augmented reality game that could connect to the upcoming expansion.

Since the strange happenings, some players have also located five buffs, Brilliance 3.2, Glory 2.1, Splendor 2.6, Magnificence 2.0 and Fortitude 3.1. One player received a vague Twitch message from the user owl_sector and it said “We’ve detected an unidentified foreign intrusion into your systems, Guardian. Stay calm. We will investigate.”

If you head on over to owl sector website it will show you all the places where there is perk distribution around the world.  We can just assume that this all ties to the expansion next week. Rise of Iron launches on September 20th.

Thanks, Polygon.
