FIFA 17 Sells 40 Times More Than PES 2017 In UK

That's a hell of a beating.

FIFA 17

Although PES 2017 put a great foot forward this year – it is arguably a better playing game this year than FIFA 17 is – it doesn’t seem like it’s been able to break FIFA‘s monopoly over the football game market. Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad revealed (via Digital Spy) that in the UK, PES was thoroughly outsold by FIFA.

How thoroughly? Well, by a magnitude of forty– that’s right, FIFA 17 sold over forty times as much as PESFIFA 17 sold over 1.1 million in its first week in the UK- meanwhile, Ahmad reveals that PES struggled to even hot 50,000 units sold. This not only makes FIFA 17 the more successful football game this year by a ridiculous margin, incidentally- it also makes it the most successful FIFA launch in the UK yet.

FIFA 17 is available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC, the same as PES 2017. While PES doubled down on its moment to moment gameplay offering this year, FIFA sold itself on the back of The Journey, a highly ambitious interactive story mode, which is a first for a football game.
