Ace Combat 7 No Longer PS4 Exclusive, Coming To Xbox One and PC As Well

Bloody skies on all platforms.

One of the most prominent third party exclusive games for the PS4, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, will now no longer be PS4 exclusive- Bandai Namco have confirmed that the seventh title in the long running flight action series will be headed to the Xbox One and PC as well.

“We’re excited to announce our plans to bring the battle for air superiority in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown to Xbox One and Steam,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America. “With over 20 years of franchise history, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown continues to deliver authentic yet accessible flight combat action to gamers around the world. This latest version of the game delivers amazing visuals and intense gameplay, all wrapped in a unique and compelling storyline. We look forward to seeing players suit up, strap in, and take their place as ace pilots.”

Given that Ace Combat sells to an increasingly shrinking niche, this is ultimately good news, and a sound business decision- though I can imagine lots of PS4 fans are displeased with the decision. At this point, it is unknown whether the game will support any other VR headsets available on PC or Xbox One, in addition to its VR support for PSVR.
