Nintendo Switch Is Finally Able To Synchronize The Clock Via Internet Unlike The Wii U/3DS

No more having to worry about daylight savings settings!

Hardware previews and impressions of the Nintendo Switch finally went live today, which means we are learning a lot of information about Nintendo’s new system. The Switch is supposed to be a high end, modern bit of electronic gadgetry- which is why we expect some basic features from it that the 3DS or Wii U not having would have been easier to excuse.

One of these features is one so basic that we cannot believe that it took Nintendo until the Switch to finally get with the program-. As GameXplain points out (via Reddit)  in its overview of the system, its features, and its UI, the Switch finally updates its internal clock, date, and time settings by checking with the internet. This is a feature that every modern electronic device made in the last ten years has had, but it took Nintendo until now to get with the program.

Happily, however, this will not be something that we will need to worry about with the Switch. Which means no having to worry about any daylight savings nonsense! Whoo!
