The Nintendo Switch comes with only 32GB of on board storage – you are expected to augment that yourself with any standard microSD card – but Nintendo is at least trying to make it easy for you to manage space on the system nonetheless, with its own games.
The file size for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was already not that big for a game of its scope, coming in at just 13GB (in contrast, just updates for The Witcher 3 weighed more). And now, the next big title on the system, Mario Kart 8, has been revealed to not be all that large in terms of file size, either.
Amazon Germany has revealed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will weigh in at 6.75GB- which is surprisingly compact. But on the other hand, this should not be surprising to any fan of the game- the original Wii U game came in at 5GB (before the DLC and updates), so the Switch version, which bundles all the DLC and updates together, adds some new content, an spruces up the original, being slightly heavier shouldn’t be much of a surprise to anyone.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be launching at the end of this month, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
