Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain‘s FOBs meta-game is important to the Metal Gear lore (and its rabid fans) for a number of reasons. Not only does it provide replay value in spades, it also makes sure to connect two very important plot points from the Big Boss storyline to the beginning of the Solid Snake storyline in the original MSX Metal Gear.
Upon completion, it is supposed to tell important, secret sections of the story, but completing it remain a dream until now, thanks to the fact that it requires immense coordination from every single player playing this meta-game. Konami has now provided an update for the number of nukes still available in the game in possession of players on each system, and it appears there is little to no progress.
The numbers have gone up on all systems except the PC, on which there’s a significant decrease (since September of last year), and on the Xbox 360, for which the numbers remain completely unchanged. Here’re the numbers for each system, as per the update dated May 12th:
- PS4: 2194
- PS3: 917
- Xbox One: 152
- Xbox 360: 315
- Steam: 8423
Looks like Big Boss’ (or Venom Snake’s) dream of complete disarmament remains a dream until now. But the Diamond Dogs have never been ones to back out of a tough fight, have they?
A new schedule for posting the number of owned nuclear weapons has returned #disarmament 5/12 – PS4:2149 PS3:917 One:152 360:315 Steam:8423 https://t.co/tWziTmhADH
