Assassin’s Creed Games Will Have Online ‘Live’ Services From Now On

Although they will be different from something like Rainbow Six: Siege.

Ubisoft has announced that it will emphasize live services in all of its games going forward. This includes not just multiplayer games like The Division, The Crew, Rainbow Six: Siege, and For Honor, but also traditionally single player focused franchises, like Assassin’s Creed.

This is something Ubisoft confirmed at an investors meeting that it held yesterday. When asked for clarification,CFO Alain Martinez confirmed that while Assassin’s Creed will have live services too, the nature of live services it has will differ greatly from the kinds one might expect in a multiplayer focused game like The Crew or Rainbow Six: Siege. This means we don’t need to worry about a persistent online connection requirement, or forced multiplayer here- the best thing Ubisoft could do would be to take notes from how IO Interactive did it with last year’s superlative Hitman.

More details on the new Assassin’s Creed game will hopefully be shared soon, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage.
