Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Nintendo Switch Top Japanese Sales Charts For Another Week

The reign continues uninterrupted.

Another week of Japan video game hardware and software sales, and nothing has changed still. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still topping the software charts, followed by Monster Hunter XX and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The new entries on the charts this week are Prey and DanganRonpa 1+2 Reload for the PS4, both of which seem to have underperformed.

Over on the hardware side of things, the Nintendo Switch continues its unbroken and uncontested reign at the top of the charts, with the Nintendo 3DS in a distant second place. The PS4 comes in at third place, and really, everything else is irrelevant after that.

So- yeah, it’s a slow week this week. It’s likely to remain slow until ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Dragon Quest 11 launch in Japan some weeks from now. It’ll be interesting to see what effect – if any – those gave on the Japanese charts upon release.
