A problem with the Nintendo Switch on Samsung TVs appears to be one that sees those TVs switching automatically to a connected Nintendo Switch over HDMI, even when the Switch is in sleep mode. This… is obviously a problem, since it can interfere with whatever else you are watching or playing on TV at the time.
Now, it looks like Samsung will issue a firmware update for its TVs to address this problem. Speaking to The Verge (via Polygon), a spokesperson said: “Samsung has been following the comments on our Community Thread and we will be issuing a Firmware update early this summer that will address this behavior and provide the level of convenience that was intended.”
Hopefully, this is the end of this problem- of course, people with non Samsung TVs have also reported similar issues with their Switch systems, so there is the possibility that whatever the problem is, it’s on Nintendo’s side, not on the TV end.
