Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter: World will obviously have a larger focus on online components than the series has ever had in the past, what with it featuring drop-in multiplayer and everything. To that end, for the first time in the franchise’s history, Japanese and western servers for the game won’t be separated, and will actually be merged so that people from around the world can play with each other.

“For the first time ever the Japanese and western servers are all merged into one,” said Capcom’s Ryozo Tsujimoto during a post-E3 interview. “So people from around the world can play online together.” He then went on to speak about how Capcom was doing something new with the game’s launch as well. “Not only that,” he said, “but we’re also aiming for the first ever simultaneous launch window for a Monster Hunter game.”

“In the past there’s been after we released the Japanese version there’s been at least a couple of months between the releases,” he continued. “But we’re going to get it out at about the same time, in the same window, so you guys can play together as quickly as possible.”

Monster Hunter: World’s launch window is currently sometime in 2018 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, but a specific time for the game’s release is not yet confirmed. Stay tuned to GamingBolt and we will keep bringing you more updates.
