ICEY  is a 2D sidescrolling hack-and-slash game. It’s been out on the PC for a year now and was also released on the PlayStation 4 back in August of this year. Now it will also be releasing for the Nintendo Switch, however a release date has not been announced. Furthermore, the physical edition of the PS4 version will also be releasing, thanks to Limited Run Games.

The game’s action is fast paced and dependent on the player stringing together multiple combos effectively. However, the game received attention for its meta elements, such as being able to ignore the instructions given by the narrator and therefore letting the main character discover a more personal story. Because of these aspects of the game, the game encourages multiple playthroughs as there is a lot that could be missed as players make certain choices. These elements of the game elevate it above being merely a fun 2D hack-and-slash game with surprising depth and complexity.

To celebrate the game’s release on PC, there will be a seventy percent discount on the game via Steam from October 20th till October 26th.
