The much vaunted vaulting feature (try saying that ten times fast) for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is one step closer to making it to the live game. Creator Brendan Greene confirmed on Twitter that vaulting would be coming to test servers for the Battle Royale game next week.
First showcased at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2017, vaulting has been in the works for quite a while. It sounds simple but considering much of the animation work that needs to be done along with all the testing, it’s easy to see why developer Bluehole would take its time.
You shouldn’t expect vaulting to make it to the live game after the release on test servers. At least three days of extensive testing are required for the proper feedback on the feature. Meanwhile, preparation is being made for the 1.0 release on PC alongside the Xbox One launch later this year. Though Microsoft is publishing the game on its platform, rumours peg the game as heading to PS4 later (perhaps next year).
