Super Mario Odyssey is out today. This is the newest entry in Nintendo’s long running flagship platforming franchise, and a return to the kind of sandbox platforming style that Nintendo itself pioneered with Super Mario 64 after a decade and a half. Needless to say, there is a fair bit of excitement around this game.
Players might be surprised to find a day one patch for the game waiting for them when they boot it up. It’s a very small download, and the patch notes just say that ‘several fixes have been made to enhance player experience’, which suggests that some small tweaks and bug fixes have been made. The pre-patched version is still great, incidentally- but hey, who can say no to more polish?
Super Mario Odyssey is available now, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. It is currently the highest rated game of the year, and one of the highest rated games of all time. Where’s our review, you ask? It is coming. Stay tuned.
