Nintendo has announced its financial results for the first month of the fiscal year which ended on September 30th. The Switch has shipped 7.63 million units while the 3DS has sold 68.98 million units.
However, there have been problems related to the sale of the console as well such as the shortage in supply which has definitely had an adverse impact on sales. However, it has still been an excellent financial year for Nintendo with the Switch having sold more units in a year than the Wii U did in its launch period.
Responding to concerns regarding shortage of supply, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kishima has stated at an earnings briefing , “We’ve boosted Switch production to meet strong demand as it was difficult for customers to buy the consoles at retail stores.”
With the release of Super Mario Odyssey and the upcoming release of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the Nintendo Switch looks set to sell really well throughout the year.
