Yesterday, there was a report by The Wall Street Journal which specified that the Switch’s wild success had actually caught Japanese third parties entirely off guard, who were now scrambling to create games for the new hybrid to cash in on it. And now, just a day later, we are already seeing the first major Japanese third party admit as much in as many words.
Speaking at their financial call and investors meeting, Bandai Namco President Mitsuaki Taguch has confirmed that the company was totally caught off guard by the Switch’s success, and that they will be ramping up their support for the platform, confirming that there will be three new Switch exclusives coming from them in Summer 2018.
What these exclusives could be is currently unknown- but Namco has a lot of IPs it could use, from Tales, Tekken, SoulCalibur, Dark Souls, Ni no Kuni, DragonBall, Ace Combat, God Eater, Code Vein, Ridge Racer, and more. It’ll be interesting to see what Bandai Namco brings to the Switch.

-発表は来期頭、発売は来期を予定
-「恥ずかしながらSwitchがこんなに早く市場に受け入れられるとは予想していなかった」
