Square Enix Doubles Down On Its Commitment To Nintendo Switch Support

Does this mean I can finally get Life is Strange on Switch?

More and more, we are beginning to hear that third parties are coming around to the Nintendo Switch, owing to its fantastic support, and its hyper engaged user base that wants to buy games for it. In the past few days, we have heard of Ubisoft, Take 2, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Tecmo Koei, and Bethesda all commit to further Switch support- and now, Square Enix is joining them, by confirming its intention to keep supporting the Switch going forward.

Speaking at their financial meeting, Square Enix confirmed that the Switch’s success has been reinvigorating, not just because it gives Square an additional revenue stream, but also because it means that Square now has a platform to target for its mid tier games (which were gone with the collapse of the mid tier last gen). That, plus the fact that the Switch is easy to port to from the PS4, means that Square now has multiple Switch games in development- including a major international title that it plans on announcing at E3 next year.

This all sounds absolutely great to me- Square has done well with its Switch support, and I am glad to see they feel like it has been worth it. Now, just put Life is Strange on the thing, and I will be a happy camper.
