Super Mario Odyssey Getting New Multiplayer Mode In Free Update

Let's continue to do the odyssey.

Posted By | On 11th, Jan. 2018

Nintendo announced in their Nintendo Direct Mini this morning that they will be releasing a brand new multiplayer mode for Super Mario Odyssey; the multiplayer mode will have players play an elaborate game of hide and seek with balloons placed around the game’s incredibly well designed maps, playing either 1v1 or in an asynchronous mode with the entire world. Yes, that’s right, for the first time in a mainline Mario game’s history, online multiplayer will be supported. Thank goodness.

The multiplayer mode will be available next month- and the best part is, it will be available as a free update. The update will also bring with it brand new costumes, in case you haven’t sunk enough hours of your life into the game already, as well as new filters for the game’s Photo Mode.

Super Mario Odyssey launched on October 27 for the Nintendo Switch exclusively. Check out our review for the game here.
