Dark Souls Remastered won't be as dark as we thought without HDR lighting.

Dark Souls Remastered

The cycle begins anew as Dark Souls Remastered was announced to be coming to all modern systems just yesterday following the reveal for Nintendo Switch. While both old and new fans can Prepare to Die all over again, some like PC, Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro players will be doing it in 4K glory.

Though originally stated to be the case on the PlayStation Blog, it seems like HDR Lighting isn’t going to make it into the PlayStation 4 Pro version of the game. The blog now reflects the removal of the statement saying that Bandai Namco requested the info be retracted.

While the remaster is based off of the Dark Souls 3 engine, players shouldn’t expect combat or asset differences in this new version. Dark Souls Remastered will include the post-launch DLC and launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on May 24. Will you be checking it out, and what’s your platform of choice?
