GENERAL FIXES

Generally speaking, some basic troubleshooting tips should always help you resolve whatever issue you are facing with the PC version of any game. If you are running into problems, maybe first attempt the following steps, and if they don’t work out, look into some of the more specific fixes we have below.

  • Make sure the drivers on your PC are updated
  • If you have two GPUs, make sure you are using the discrete GPU instead of the integrated one
  • Set Metal Gear Survive’s priority to High in the Task Manager
  • Turn off any background programs, including firewalls, chat clients, video recorders, and overlays
  • Try lowering visual settings on the game to see if that improves game performance
  • Make sure you have Windows updated before you attempt to play Meta Gear Survive.

SCREEN TEARING

Some players have experienced an issue where they experience screen tearing. Players have reported experiencing this issue even when V-synch is turned on in the game’s settings. Don’t worry though as this issue can be resolved quite easily.

  • Just open the Nvidia Control Panel, and then select”Manage 3D Settings.”
  • Now, select the game from the drop-down list of programs and set Vysync to “On.”

BLACK SCREEN ERROR

You might have encountered this error when launching the game. You may be able to hear the audio but are unable to see anything on the screen. This problem is usually caused when the game’s resolution is set higher than your monitor’s native resolution. To fix this, just press ‘ALT+ ENTER’ to bring the game to windowed mode and then just change the resolution in the game’s settings. This should resolve the issue for you.

AUDIO ISSUES

If you’ve been encountering problems with the audio in the game such as stuttering, then this method may help you. First, open up your playback devices. Once you do this, just select the audio device you’re using and select the “Advanced” tab.

Now you’ll find a menu here with various different options. Just try different ones until you find one that works well for you. This should fix the stuttering along with other audio issues.

XBOX CONTROLLER NOT WORKING

If you’re having this issue where your Xbox controller is not working with the game, then this method will help fix the issue for you.

  • First, ensure that Big Picture Mode and Steam in-game overlay are enabled.
  • Now, once the game is started, just press SHIFT+TAB to bring up the Steam overlay and click on “Controller Configuration.”
  • Next, click on Browse Configs and then select “Show other controller types.”
  • You should now be able to see the Xbox controller present here, so just click on it and it will work in the game.

GREEN SCREEN ERROR

If you’re experiencing a problem with the screen flickers or starts turning green, then this solution might work for you.

  • Open up the Nvidia control panel,
  • Navigate to “change resolution” under “Display”.
  • Click “Use Nvidia Color Setting” and select “Highest (32-Bit)”.

Note: Given that the wide range of PC hardware out there, the fixes mentioned here may or may not work for you. But it’s worth giving them a shot since these have worked for players who own the PC version of Metal Gear Survive.
