One of the greatest JRPGs of all time- indeed, one of the greatest games ever made, and arguably the best Persona game (from an objective perspective, as much as I might like Persona 5 more myself)- Persona 4 Golden, is now available for an obscenely cheap price on the PSN Store. You can pick it up for just $7.99.

Persona 4 Golden was released on the PS Vita in 2012; an expanded re-release of the 2008 cult hit PS2 game, the game went on to become the Vita’s most beloved title, and is often cited as the system’s signature game. Its success led to widespread awareness of Persona, and a buzz and chatter that paved the way directly to the success of Persona 5.

Persona 4 Golden follows the story of a young man who moves to a rural countryside village, which is suddenly besot by mysterious serial murders, and eerie broadcasts on the television on rainy evenings. Investigating the two phenomena leads him to learn the true nature of the threat faced by reality- but the true meat here is not the story, or the sense of style, or even the excellent soundtrack, it is the amazing characters. Persona 4 Golden has flat out the best characters and character interactions in the series, and players who joined the train with Persona 5 are in for a ride with this one. If you own a Vita, and haven’t played this game already, now is your chance- don’t let this pass you by.
