Persona 4 was when the series broke out of its niche and became a sustained success worldwide. Atlus capitalized on that with all sorts of Persona media as a result- we got Persona 4 animes, mangas, concerts, merchandize, and in terms of games, two fighting game spin offs, one rhythm game spin off, and a dungeon crawling spin off, not to mention a re-release on PS Vita which went on to be praised as one of the greatest games ever.
All of which is to say, Persona 4 was heavily leveraged by Atlus. But with Persona 5 now out, and a huge success in its own right, you would expect them to move on to milking that property, right? As it turns out, Atlus might not be ready to move on from Persona 4 just yet. The newest issue of Persona Magazine has very explicitly said that Persona 4 is not yet over, teasing more media based on the game coming at some point.
As for what it could be… a remake of the game for PS4? A pot of Golden to Switch? A new kart racing game? Cooking with Nanako? A third new anime? The sky is the limit, really. Let’s wait and see what this amounts to. Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, Persona 4 is available on PS2 (playable on PS3 as well), and Persona 4 Golden on PS Vita exclusively.
To people wondering if this is true or not:
The cover to the new issue of Persona Magazine was released recently and one of the contents listed reads "Persona 4 Ever More! Persona 4 is not over! Game, anime, manga, check the newest information!" We'll see what it turns out to be pic.twitter.com/g14hfovzmk— @gespy.bsky.social (@TheGespenst) May 20, 2018
