The PC game seems to be in an unfortunate decline as of late, with many developers previously loyal to the platform now branching out into the more lucrative console market. As the money drains from the PC gaming industry we see presentation as the most likely thing to take a hit. As a reminder of what we may wind up missing out on, here’s a list of ten PC exclusives with top grade voice acting.

10. The Witcher 2

Most fantasy games suffer from pompous or amateurish voice acting, and dark fantasy games on PC tend to be the worst the offenders of this particular crime. It was thus that the Witcher impressed with its high quality voice acting. Whilst many other RPGs have since defected to consoles, the Witcher has stayed true to the PC for the time being. Though the Witcher 2 is set to appear on Xbox 360 soon, it is a PC exclusive for now and one with some sound voice acting.

9. Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2

Sometimes a game can be so bad it’s good. In terms of gameplay, RA2 is just awesome but its narrative was a little bit more laughable. One of the few examples of properly old school live action cut sequences, Red Alert 2 ticked all the boxes when it came to corny dialogue and cheesy delivery. Many games have humoured this cliché since, but Red Alert 2 did it first and best.

8. Deus Ex

The wealth of characters, choices and dialogue options made Deus Ex an instant classic. It also meant that the voice acting had to be varied and of a high standard. It may not quite compare to more modern games, but it was damn excellent for the time. Deus Ex is often considered one of the best games ever made on account of its highly engaging narrative, and this is no doubt in part due to the game’s impressive vocal cast.
