The PC ports of Final Fantasy VII & VIII are infamous for reducing even the most relaible of computers to figurative tears and, it seems that, these ports are buried within Valve’s Steam Service – they just aren’t available for purchase. The Final Fantasy fans at RPGsite recently got their role playing mits on a steam registry toolkit and began digging through Steam’s nether-reigons, eventually uncovering a ‘Content Description Record’ which lists all the games on Valve’s servers. Nestling within this extensive list are FF VII & VIII. There is the off chance that some work has been put into stabilising the PC versions and that Square Enix are simply biding their time, but chances are that this is nothing more than a curious artifact.
