Super Mario Odyssey Gets New Costume For Mario Based On One of the Villains

You're a superstar, no one else could make it this far...

Nintendo’s post launch support for Super Mario Odyssey has mostly been a bunch of trivial, inessential, but free stuff (meaning you can’t complain), such as a neat new mode that encourages players to explore the levels like never before, and a bunch of new costumes added for Mario to wear. This newest update for the game, which is out and available now, is another brand new costume for Mario, based on Hariet from the Broodals.

In case that sentence made you ask “who, now?”, Hariet was the second boss you fought in the game, in Toastarina. While Hariet’s costume for Mario gives him the same kind of skirt and spiky hat, you don’t get the wrecking ball style hair accessory Hariet has that she uses to great effect in her battle with you. Sad, but it is what it is, right?

You can buy the costume in the game with gold coins, so it probably won’t take you long to be able to afford it for yourself. Super Mario Odyssey is out now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Read our review here.
