NBA 2K games have the Neighborhood, a hub world/menu screen with the metaphor of a neighborhood (I mean, duh) that you walk your character around to access the various modes and facilities that are available to your character in the game. The Neighborhood has grown more and more robust and realistic over the last few years, and this year’s promises to be the most fully featured.
That is what the new trailer for NBA 2K19, which launches next month, shows off- the Neighborhood in the new game. It’s actually getting to the point where these are ridiculously well made, and I have to start wondering what the end game is here. Interesting also is the fact that the end of the trailer shows off a football (as in, from American Football) being played with- now, 2K used to make the NFL 2K series until it lost the license, and we haven’t seen an American Football from them since. What could this possibly be alluding to? Could a street variant of the game be brought back in NBA this year?
Or maybe it doesn’t mean anything. Either way, we’ll find out when NBA 2K19 launches for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 7.
