He’s gotten a bit insufferable in recent years, thanks to constantly being shoved down our throats in Persona 4 merchandizing, media, and spin-offs, and because his character has been totally flanderized in all of those, but in the original Persona 4, Teddie was actually a pretty cool character. He was still a bit annoying, but he was sympathetic, enigmatic, and unexpectedly funny and witty at times.
Of course, we shouldn’t really expect to see much, if any, of that in the upcoming Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. The Nintendo 3DS game, which is a crossover of Persona 3, 4, and 5, is mostly a light hearted adventure made for fan service. So you hopefully won’t be too disappointed when you see not much of the depth Teddie originally had in Persona 4 be reflected in his character introduction video for Persona Q2, which is also the newest trailer for the game.
Teddie’s depiction aside, we get to see some gameplay footage, including battles and character interactions. If you’re looking forward to the game, you’re presumably going to enjoy this trailer. Persona Q2 launches for Nintendo 3DS on November 28 in Japan (with no Western release currently announced). If you’d rather dance than dungeon crawl, Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight got new English trailers today as well.
