Despite its mass unpopularity, Ubisoft are considering its DRM measures “a success.”
Ubisoft have claimed that there system that requires users to be always connected to the internet in order to play games (even single player ones) has worked to cut down piracy.
An Ubisoft representative said that the developer has seen “A clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success”.
It may be a success for them, but it certainly seems to be pissing off the PC gaming community.
