Unknown Worlds Entertainment’s open world underwater survival title Subnautica is one of the most highly praised and unique titles to have been released in the genre in recent years, as anyone who’s played it would tell you. If you’re among the people who’ve been looking to take a dive into it but haven’t done so till now, there’s good news for you.

Over at the Epic Games Store, you can download the game for absolutely free (it otherwise retails at $24.99) up until December 27, 11:59 PM EST. In a bid to bolster user engagement on the newly launched store, Epic Games have stated that they’ll be giving away two games for free every month- once the free period for Subnautica is over, next in line will be Super Meat Boy, as a look at the store’s home page will tell you.

Subnautica also currently has an expansion, Below Zero, in early access, which will be receiving a full launch in 2019. Meanwhile, the game also recently launched on PS4, and also exited the Xbox Game Preview program for a full launch on the Xbox One.
