While we all continue to wait to see what exactly Persona 5 S, which will get a proper confirmation on April 25, is, it looks like Best Buy have decided to give us a (possible) sneak peak. Apparently, the Best Buy employees system has a listing for Persona 5 on Nintendo Switch.
Now, to be clear, this isn’t confirmation or indication of anything. But assuming this listing is true, then there are some interesting points here. For instance, Persona 5 on Switch’s publisher is apparently Nintendo. This isn’t too unusual, Nintendo actually publishes a lot of third parties’ games in the west—as one example, Dragon Quest 11 S will be handled by Nintendo in the west. Nintendo handling publishing will probably also be one way to ensure a worldwide release for Atlus’ otherwise infamously staggered releases.
Again, these don’t have to be indicative of anything. Retailer listings often turn out to be precursors to actual announcements, but in some cases, they are just idle speculation. Maybe Persona 5 is coming to Switch, maybe it isn’t, but in either case, these listings don’t prove anything one way or the other.
Persona 5 (Switch) is leaked via Best Buy's employee terminal. For what it's worth, I can confirm it is in Best Buy's system https://t.co/c8xOX6N34R
