Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Gameplay and Story Details Potentially Leaked – Rumor

Some interesting details on the Respawn title might have come to light, thanks to a recent leak.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

After much anticipation, and just in time for the marketing of Star Wars Episode IX to start, we got an official tease of Respawn’s Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, which seemed to include some ominous undertones. Finally, soon publisher EA will be officially lifting the veil of secrecy the title has been under at the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago.

Before that happens, though, we already might have access to some information from the game. A Reddit poster by the name of SchrodingersWitcher claims to have gotten information on the game from a person on Resetera who was claiming to be a developer on Fallen Order, and has compiled the information that they managed to get (what with said Resetera user’s posts about the same having been edited to remove all the information in question).

Fallen Order, according to the leak, is going to be part of the new official Star Wars canon- which isn’t much of a surprise, considering it’s a Disney-approved game, and 2017’s Battlefront 2’s single player campaign was also canonical. The game will see us playing as a “pre-made” male protagonist, who has a “backpack” droid for a companion. The game will be an “expansion of the Star Wars lore”, and will be going back to some planets that we’ve seen before.

Several interesting in-game mechanics have also been teased. The Resetera poster claiming to be a developer hinted that the game would have wall-running and parkour elements, and said that the player would be going from planet to planet in the game- though it wouldn’t exactly be open world, it wouldn’t be completely linear either. The leaker also compared the combat to Dark Souls, while also mentioning that parry mechanics would be similar to those seen in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Aesthetically, the game is said to be resembling the aesthetics of recent spinoff films Rogue One and Solo, while also having the flair of the prequel movies. The game, reportedly, being made on Unreal Engine 4- not Frostbite, as many had feared EA would have insisted on (especially in light of recent reports regarding Anthem’s troubles with the engine).

The most interesting bit coming out of the leaks, however, is this- Fallen Order is going to be a single player only (or at least primarily single player) title, and it’s campaign is going to be a meaty one (the leaker said it’s going to be a lot longer than just 5 or so hours). The campaign’s going to have a “big opening”, an the Jedi hunting Inquisitors have also been teased for the story (they’ve cropped up in earlier leaks as well). Whether or not it will have microtransactions isn’t known, but if it does, as per the leaker, they won’t get in the way of the gameplay experience.

As always with leaks, especially when they include a much anticipated game like Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, it should be taken with a big grain of salt, especially since inserting ‘it’s like Dark Souls’ is starting to become a tired and true way to get enthusiastic forum posters to perk up their ears.

Regardless, the game will see its official coming out party in Chicago on April 13th so we’ll know soon. Not too long ago, we got other interesting leaks for Fallen Order as well- take a look through here.
