Nintendo have released their latest quarterly financial results, with which they have confirmed new sales data for hardware and software sales. The Switch has now sold a total of 34.74 million units worldwide, up from 32.27 million units as of December 31s, 2018. Of these sales, 2.46 million came in Q4 of FY2018/19 (January-March of 2019). At its current sales figures, the Switch has now also officially overtaken the lifetime sales of the N64.

In the entirety of the financial year, the Switch sold 16.95 million units sold. While Nintendo had earlier projected 20 million hardware sales for the system in the financial year, they would eventually go on to lower those projections to 17 million– the current sales figures still fall slightly short of those expected figures. That said, the sales have still seen a year-on-year increase of 12.7 per cent. Nintendo expects to sell 18 million Switch units in FY 2019/20.

Meanwhile, Nintendo have provided updated sales data for the 3DS as well. The eight year-old handheld system now sits at a total of 75.08 million units sold. It sold .24 million units in Q4 of FY 2018/19, and a total of 2.55 million units in the entirety of the financial year, which falls slightly short of their projected sales of 2.6 million units. For FY 2019/20, Nintendo have projected sales of 1 million units for the 3DS.
