Koei-Tecmo released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Team Ninja action RPG Nioh 2 today. Along with that trailer also came the announcement of a closed alpha that will run for roughly two weeks, true to Koei-Tecmo’s word.

You can check out the gameplay trailer below. It doesn’t show a whole lot, but you get a feel for how familiar it is to the first game in its visual style and gameplay (along with some touches of humor). One aspect that is notable is you can see the character creator aspect with a variety of character types, a new feature as compared to the first game, which had a set protagonist. Also on display is the new Yokai transformation technique.

The game will also get a closed alpha demo period from May 24th to June 6th. It seems to be invite-only at this point, so most likely whether or not you get in will come down to luck, so keep on the look out over the next few days for a potential invite.

Nioh 2 is currently announced to come out this year for the PlayStation 4.
