While SNK’s upcoming fighter, Samurai Shodown, is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One very soon, unfortunately the Switch and PC versions don’t have definite dates as of now. Both are slated for Q4 of this year. However, an interesting tidbit about the future of the PC version dropped today via the game’s director, and about where it may, and may not, have ended up.
In an interview with Game Focus, the director of the game, Nobuyuki Kuroki, said the company was offered an exclusivity deal for the PC version of the game from an unnamed “PC Download Platform.” Apparently, they rejected it as they think the game will sell substantially more than the money that was offered (you’ve got to appreciate the confidence).
While he stops short of saying who this platform holder was, it’s not too hard to put 2 and 2 together when you realize there’s only one PC platform holder currently on a buying spree for exclusives. But, of course, we can’t say for sure- but it would have been an epic get for whichever storefront (thanks to Twitter user Gatoray for the translation).
Samurai Shodown will release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 25th, Q4 2019 for Switch and PC, and will launch in November for Stadia. To keep up with all news related to the game, including up to date character reveals, stay with us.
