RingFit Adventure Comes To Nintendo Switch October 18

The experience is both exactly what you expected, and nothing like what you expected.

Earlier in the week, Nintendo teased that a new “experience” was coming to the Switch. While the video released was absolutely fitness based, boy oh boy, did it not end up being exactly what we were thinking. While RingFit Adventure is fitness based, it’s set to the backdrop of a fantasy RPG as opposed to a new straight take on the Wii Fit franchise.

In the video release, they highlight some of the game’s story where you must battle against an evil bodybuilding dragon who has revived and threatens the world. You move and attack through exercise, using a leg strap and a Ring-Con. If you’re more interested in just the exercise, there are various minigames and quick plays that are focused solely on that aspect. So, essentially, it’s a Wii Fit Trainer RPG.

RingFit Adventure will launch October 18th for the Nintendo Switch. The package will include the full game, as well as a leg strap and Ring-Con. As of now it’s unclear if this will work with the upcoming Switch Lite revision, but it seems that it will not as it requires the use of detachable Joy Cons.
