The Wolf Among Us 2 Won’t Be Launching In 2020

This is going to be a long wait.

The Wolf Among Us 2

Telltale’s closure last year was heartbreaking for several reasons. One of those was that the sequel to the fan-favourite The Wolf Among Us would never see the light of day- or so we thought. Telltale Games were reformed this year when their assets were acquired by a company called LCG Entertainment, and at The Game Awards yesterday, they re-revealed The Wolf Among Us 2

That said, we’re still going to have to wait a while before we can finally play the game. Speaking in an interview with Forbes, the new Telltale’s CEO Jamie Ottilie made it clear that, due to development on the project having been rebooted, the game definitely won’t be out in 2020, and that the studio is going to take its time to ensure that the game lives up to expectations and is the best that it can be.

“We aren’t announcing a release date just yet, but I can say it won’t be in 2020,” said Ottilie when asked about the game’s release date. “We have rebooted development of Season 2 and intend to give it the time and care it deserves to bring the vision to fruition.”

There hasn’t yet even been any information about what platforms The Wolf Among Us 2 will launch on, but seeing as the earlier the game will come out will be in 2021, we can assume that it’s going to be a next-gen title. Meanwhile, if you’re worried that the game might not be a worthy successor to the original, seeing as its being developed by a studio that’s essentially Telltale only in name, well, don’t be- creative leads on the first game are being brought back to ensure that it’s “a true sequel.”

The Wolf Among Us 1 is also currently free on the Epic Games Store, so go ahead and download it and play it, if you haven’t already done so.
