500 people working on Call of Duty, claims Activision

Posted By | On 07th, Sep. 2011

Activision claims that “four or five” developers are working on the Call of Duty franchise, adding up to around 500 people.

Dave Stohl, Activision’s executive vice president told VentureBeat that Infinity Ward and Sedgehammer are currently working on Modern Warfare 3, with Treyarch also working on it’s Wii version. Beachead is working on Call of Duty: Elite, and Demonware is handling services for all these titles.

That’s pretty impressive. 500 people on one franchise is really mind boggling. Let’s hope this translates into good quality when the game releases in November on the 360, PS3, PC, Wii and DS.
