The Back 4 Blood beta went live on Friday for everyone who pre-ordered the game, and as you’d expect from a game that’s being billed as a proper spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, it drew in a large number of players over the weekend.
According to the game’s SteamDB page, it hit a concurrent player count peak of over 74,000 players within its first 24 hours. The next day, that number climbed even higher, touching 98,024 players, which remains the peak even now. Those are some pretty impressive numbers, and bode well for the co-op first person shooter.
The beta is going to become available to everyone at large on August 12 and will run up until August 16, so we’re probably going to see that number climb even higher in that window.
Back 4 Blood launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12.
