DICE Denies that Battlefield 3 was Made with Consoles in mind; Utilizes more than 1GB VRAM

As Battlefield 3 is getting closer to release, things are heating up it seems. In the recent multiplayer beta, the console version wasn’t that impressive looking but were functional. I had previewed the multiplayer beta and found it to be a mixed bag, especially on the consoles. But it’s still a ‘beta’ and the final version could look and play much better.

DICE dev team member, Alan Kertz had choice words to say when asked if the game was made with consoles in mind first and PC later. “Honestly, with the latest news, this doesn’t bode well for BF3. Console first, PC second,” said one disappointed fan.

To which Kertz replied, “As a member of devteam, bullshit.” The fan clearly managed to fluster Kertz a little, but it’s good to know that DICE is making PC the first priority for the game.

In another spectacular counter to prove the PC version’s superiority, Johan Andersson replied to another fan that the game can utilize more than 1GB of VRAM; which means you have a latest graphics card, expect to see some spectacular graphics, that’s not possible on consoles.

Yes, Battlefield 3 can fill up more than 1 GB of VRAM, esp. on Ultra or with very high resolutions,” he said.

So, there you have it, PC owners have nothing to worry about and considering the fact that the game can support 64 players on PC, it is the definitive version to get. Battlefield 3 comes out on October 25th for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Are you excited for the game? Tell us in the comments section below.
