Famitsu has released its latest weekly charts for physical software and hardware sales in Japan, and once again, for the third week in a row since they launched, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have topped the software side of things. The duo of remakes sold over 164,000 units across the week, taking their total sales in the region to over 1.9 million. Considering the fact that the two games collectively sold over 6 million units worldwide within one week of launch, their continued success should come as no surprise.

There are a couple of new releases in the software charts as well. Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain debuted in third place, selling nearly 37,000 units, while Disney Magical World 2: Enchanted Edition took No. 8 with over 13,000 units sold. Incredibly, every single game in the top 10 is a Switch release.

The Nintendo Switch was the dominant force in Japan for the week in terms of hardware sales as well- which has been the norm for a long, long time now. The system collectively sold nearly 203,000 units, of which over 99,000 units sold were for the OLED model. In total, the Switch sold over 200,000 units more than every other system on the market combined.
