The Game Awards 2022 Will Take Place on December 8

This year's edition of The Game Awards will take place on December 8, live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. It will feature awards, announcements, trailers, and musical performances.

The Game Awards has announced the first set of details for its 2022 event. Set to be the 9th annual show, The Game Awards 2022 will take place on December 8 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Alongside voting on the usual categories, The Game Awards this year will also feature the Best Adaptation category. It has been described as a category to recognise the works that can authentically adapt video game IP to other media.

Other features from the event include new game announcements, new trailers and reveals for games already announced, and musical performances, including the return of The Game Awards Orchestra, conducted by Lorne Balfe.

The previous year’s Game Awards event hit quite a few records, including 85 million livestreams. Other records hit by the event include 23.2 million viewer votes, 1.75 million hours watched on YouTube, and 1.6 million tweets.

The Game Awards 2021 features reveals and showcases for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Elden Ring, Saints Row, and Homeworld 3, among others.
