Famitsu’s latest charts for weekly hardware and physical software sales in Japan are out, and Splatoon 3, which has been on top of the charts every week since its launch, has taken the top spot yet again, with over 66,000 units sold.
In second place is Persona 5 Royal, which saw its long-awaited launch on Nintendo Switch and current-gen platforms last week. The Nintendo Switch version of the game sits in second place with nearly 46,000 units sold, while the PS5 version has also managed to sneak into the top 10, sitting at No. 9 with a little over 5,000 units sold. Seeing as Persona 5 Royal has been playable on PS5 since the console launched via backward compatibility, the version’s lower sales don’t come as much of a surprise.
Meanwhile, on the hardware front, the Nintendo Switch is once again the leading console, to no one’s surprising, having sold over 54,000 units over the course of the week. The PS5 has also posted decent sales figures, with over 28,000 units sold, while the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S collectively sold over 4,000 units.
