The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is easily one of the biggest upcoming releases of the year, and with just a little over two months left until its launch, anticipation surrounding its release is continuing to mount. While many will have been hoping that Nintendo will begin talking more about the game as we get closer to its launch, it doesn’t look like the company is ready to kick that process off just yet.

PAX East is set to take place in Boston later this month, between March 23 and March 26, however, Nintendo has confirmed that though it will be in attendance, it won’t be bringing its biggest upcoming release to the event.

In a statement to the Boston Herald, a Nintendo representative said, “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will not be shown at PAX East 2023.”

In all fairness, there wouldn’t have been much expectation that PAX East would bring a major new showing of the open world title with it, but it’s good to have confirmation from Nintendo either way. Of course, this does raise the question of exactly when Nintendo will be showing more of the game, especially with not long left until its release now- one would assume that the company will have a dedicated Direct showcase planned for sometime in the coming weeks.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is due out for the Nintendo Switch on May 24.
