How long it’ll be before we see a full-fledged successor to the Asus ROG Ally remains to be seen, though Asus is, nonetheless, set to release a more powerful variant of its portable gaming PC in the form of the ROG Ally X later this year. And though there’s plenty that we don’t yet know about in an official capacity, it seems details have emerged on its specs in a new leak.

A report published by VideoCardz claims that the ROG Ally X is going to be similar to the original model in several ways, with the same Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU with 8 Zen4 cores and 12 RDNA3 CUs, as well as the same 7-inch 1080p screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The areas where the device will see notable upgrades will be the batter, featuring an 80 Wh battery, doubling the original device’s capacity, as well as a significant jump forward with a 24 GB LPDDR5 RAM.

The new device allegedly also features a second USB-C port, will be about 70 grams heavier than the original model, and about 4.5 mm thicker.

What price the device will retail for or when these aforementioned details will be officially unveiled remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
