Phantom Blade Zero has been on many a radar since it was unveiled a little over a year ago, and recently, over the weekend, the game was one of several titles to be featured by Sony at the ChinaJoy 2024 event. New gameplay footage has, as such, emerged for the action RPG, offering another extended look at its steampunk fantasy setting, its slick and fast-paced combat, and more.

The gameplay starts off with what seems to be an early section in the game, with tutorials showcased for basic combos. Plenty of combat is shown against enemies, and unsurprisingly, it’s an area where the game continues to look promising.

Developer S-Game has stressed several times now that Phantom Blade Zero isn’t a Soulslike as much as it is a fast-paced action game, and that much, too, is very much on display in the gameplay footage. Meanwhile, a couple of boss fights against appropriately brutish enemies are glimpsed towards the end of the demo as well. Check it out below, courtesy of YouTube channel GamersPrey.

Phantom Blade Zero is in development for PS5 and PC. A release date for the title has yet to be announced.
