With the upcoming Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, WB Games and developer Unbroken Studios are giving us a different taste of the Wizarding World universe than 2022’s Hogwarts Legacy, what with its focus on the titular high-flying fantasy sport, though interestingly enough, the game isn’t going to be focused on in-game monetization the way you might expect.

WB Games has released a new gameplay trailer for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, alongside which the company has also revealed that the game isn’t going to have any microtransactions at launch. As per a recently sent out press release, there are “no plans for microtransactions in the game at this time.”

Presumably, that means the publisher is waiting to see how successful the game is before it decides how to approach monetization, but at least at launch, nothing within the game is going to be paywalled. Of course, adding in-game stores shortly after release has been a common practice with games over the years, so it wouldn’t be completely unexpected to see something like that here.

WB Games has also unveiled physical and digital deluxe editions for the game. The former will be available at launch and will cost $39.99, as opposed to the $29.99 standard edition. A physical edition, priced the same as the digital one, will be available in November. Purchasing either of the two deluxe editions will net you with in-game gold and cosmetics tied to each of the four Hogwarts Houses.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions launches on September 3 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
