PC Gaming Is Not Dead: Ten Awesome Upcoming Exclusives

Statistics state that January and February are among the most depressing months of the year, and I largely put this down to the lack of games that come out in the post-Christmas period. If you’re a PC gamer, things may seem even more depressing, with developers seemingly abandoning the platform at every possible opportunity. Fear not though faithful PC user, as there is plenty left to sink your teeth into in the coming months. Read on for ten upcoming PC exclusives that will be worth a look in.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

World of Warcraft and its vast cultural significance has granted it a “love it or hate it” reputation since its launch in 2004. For the half of you reading this that are likely to fall into the “love it” category, this one is bound to be on your to do list. Set on the mystical island of Pandaria, this new expansion offers a new class, race, and increased level cap along with a whole host of new raids and dungeons.

ArmA 3

When it comes to military shooters, the ArmA series is about as elitist as it gets. Whilst this makes for a complicated interface and high system demands, it also allows for an absurd amount of player freedom and technical proficiency. Bohemian Interactive want to turn this around in Arma 3, promising us the most accessible single player modes yet. I’m sure this will upset some hardcore fans of the series but, if you like your FPS games and fancy something new, this could be a great entry point into a rich and rewarding PC exclusive franchise.

Blacklight: Retribution

The sequel to the ambitious XBLA shooter, Blacklight: Tango Down, Retribution is now settling down as a PC exclusive for this pseudo-sequel. It sports the same solid mechanics and maps, looks absolutely gorgeous and, best of all, Zombie Studios are planning to use a free to play model. If something is free, it’s usually worth having, so make sure you keep your eyes on this one.
