Slime Rancher 2

Slime Rancher 2 is bringing its cosy, relaxing gameplay loop to the Nintendo Switch 2 in January 2027, as announced at the latest Indie World Showcase. Based on the platform’s line-up in its first year, Monomi Park’s colorful, vibrant world is certainly a perfect fit and may even draw a few curious eyes in public.

Stepping into Beatrix LeBeau’s shoes again is nice, as we remember those whimsical visuals well, complete with a gameplay loop that kept us busy when we first played it in our review. The rest of the game is certainly relaxing and breezy, but that doesn’t mean it lacks enough challenges to keep things interesting. You just have to go looking for them. Even with that on the table, Slime Rancher 2 is going to be a title you come back to when you don’t feel like playing something intense.

An experience this enjoyable is definitely worth carrying with you in your back pocket, and we’re eager to see whether this version can keep up with its counterparts on other platforms. The trailer accompanying the announcement has us confident it could achieve that goal, though. Check it out below before adding it to your wishlist and stay tuned for further updates.
