Mass Effect 2
The impact of the scene that showed the Normandy getting ripped to shreds by that terrifying vessel and Shepard actually dying and falling to his death was immense. We saw explosions, some casualties and the fact that the entire sequence was so well directed made it so much better. It set the tone of Mass Effect 2 perfectly, and the game began with a bang.
