Dark Souls sells 1.6 million worldwide

From Software have just announced the worldwide sales for their award winning, brutal RPG, Dark Souls. Apparently, it has sold 1.6 million copies worldwide and if my calculations are correct, it’s almost twice that of Demon’s Souls.

The figures were revealed by Namco Bandai CEO, Shin Unozawa. The game has sold 400k units in its home country, Japan. We reviewed the game and gave it a glowing score – you can check that out over here.

Eiichi Nakajima, executive producer and director of business development for From Software also broke this news at GDC. He said that the game has surpassed 1 million units worldwide.

Meanwhile, From Software is interested to do a third game but aren’t sure yet. Sony owns the Demon’s Souls IP, so the game could be headed to the Vita as well. Oh well, one can dream.
